“The more you engage, the more you will gain from the weekend, so please try and be as involved as you are comfortable with—and don’t forget to have fun!”
Majors Physics, Psychology, Mathematics (CAS) Class Year 2027 Hometown Chicago, IL
Christopher has traveled to over 20 away conferences, over 40 total. At his high school he was a part of the directorate for the largest high school MUN conference, SIMUN. So far at NYUMUNC he has been deputy head delegate last year of our travel team, current club treasurer, USG of Crisis committees EMPIREMUNC. His best memories were winning the National Championship (NAIMUN). And my favorite award would be best delegate at FIMUN where He summoned and controlled the kraken as part of my crisis arc in The Republic of Pirates as Blackbeard. Outside of Mun, he love watching documentaries, botany, reptiles and amphibians.

Ananya Banerjee is a senior studying Politics in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is honored to serve as the Secretary-General of EmpireMUNC XII and has been involved in Model UN since middle school! As a General Assembly delegate in high school, Ananya received the honor of Best Delegate at many prestigious international conferences, such as NAIMUN and ILMUNC. At NYU, Ananya has been on the Model UN Travel Team since her freshman year and has held many leadership positions in the club, including Director-General of Committees for EmpireMUNC and Director of Delegate Affairs for NYUMUNC. Ananya is a huge Manchester United fan, a How I Met Your Mother enthusiast, and can be found watching a Steelers game every Sunday. In her free time, Ananya loves watching movies and being way too invested in bad reality television.
Ananya hopes every delegate enjoys the amazing conference EmpireMUNC has to offer and loves the conference as much as she loved organizing it!

Majors Psychology (Pre-Med), minor in Chemistry & Digital Design (CAS) Class Year 2027 Hometown Princeton, NJ
Sonali Shah is a sophomore studying Psychology and minoring in Chemistry and Digital Design while on the Pre-Medicine track. Although she never participated in Model UN in high school, since starting college, she quickly became an integral part of the logistics team. Coming from being Director of Delegate Affairs for EmpireMUNC XI, she has a special interest in seeing the conference itself flourish. When she’s not attending meetings for MUN, you can find her at the gym powerlifting, stressing out about her various science classes, or in bed crocheting a flower blanket. Her other involvements on campus include being a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity, and the American Medical Students Association.

“Think big and bold – in crisis we have the opportunity to act as people, often with similar political powers to ourselves. See yourself in your roles and affect the world in the ways you dream of. Crisis is so incredible because it inspires change starting from ourselves.”
Majors Economics, Politics (CAS) Class Year 2028 Hometown Ames, IA
Sahaana Venkat is inordinately obsessed with Model UN. She’s been competing for the past 7 years and everytime she staffs or competes she learns more about herself. At NYU she’s had the opportunity to serve as CD of the Derry Girls committee in which she brought one of her favourite shows to life and to chaos. Sahaana is also the deputy head delegate of the NYUMUN Travel team and enjoys it immensely - even though it exponentially increases the chances of her graying prematurely. She competes both in GA and in Crisis and awarded at the UPMUNC double del last year.
If she’s not crashing out about math Sahaana can be found dancing, doodling, or reading.

Lillian Espeland joined NYU Travel Team Model UN in January of 2024, after competing in Speech and Debate (Duo, Improv, & Informative Speaking) for four years in high school. Right now, she’s deputy head delegate of the Travel Team (with Sahaana and Lochlain!), and she just finished competing at &MUN and CHOMUN. She loves interesting, wacky crises, and recently chaired EMPIREMUNC XI’s Lego Board of Directors, and NYUMUNC XVI’s SNL Writers’ Room. In her free time, Lillian enjoys watching old movies and reading.

“He’s thrilled to be part of this year’s EmpireMUNC team and hopes every delegate finds a moment in committee that reminds them why they fell in love with MUN in the first place.”
Majors Public Policy, Politics (CAS) Minor Broadcast & Multimedia Journalism Class Year 2028 Hometowns Cork, IE → Atlanta, GA
Lochlain Healy is a freshman studying Public Policy and Politics with a minor in Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism at NYU. Originally from Ireland, Lochlain has been involved in Speech and Debate throughout high school in Atlanta. He currently serves as a Deputy Head Delegate on the NYU Model UN Travel Team, competing in his first four collegiate conferences this year, placing at three of them.
In addition to competing, Lochlain has staffed both NYUMUNC and EmpireMUNC, gaining a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that makes great committees run. When he’s not prepping for committee or helping newer delegates, he’s probably watching rugby (go Ireland), exploring the city’s food scene, or playing pool with his friends.
He’s thrilled to be part of this year’s EmpireMUNC team and hopes every delegate finds a moment in committee that reminds them why they fell in love with MUN in the first place.

“Assess the situation and create the best possible outcome. The nature of MUN is volatile and chaotic, and sometimes things don’t always work out as you planned. Always have a contingency, and be prepared to adapt!”
Majors Politics, Public Policy (CAS) Class Year 2027 Hometowns Seoul, KR
Jeremy (Younghyun) Kim is a Sophomore studying Public Policy and Politics at NYU’s College for Arts and Sciences. They grew up in Seoul, South Korea but attended middle and high school in Bangkok, Thailand, where they were first introduced to Model UN. While their first few experiences at MUN were… questionable to say the least, they were quickly hooked by the heated debate and the chaos of it all. They quickly fell in love with the community within MUN and continued to pursue it throughout high school, as Secretary-general of THAIMUN X and in college through NYU’s Travel Team. As USG of Training, they are committed to providing delegates with quality experiences both in and outside of the committee room.
Outside of MUN, Jeremy enjoys photography, making trips to the museum, reading, and tea.

“Every session offers a million personal challenges and takeaways. Choose to grasp them. And always remember, diplomacy doesn’t end at the committee door—it’s everywhere.”

Angelina Fang finds beauty in interconnectedness—whether it's in crisis arc development, poetic musings, or dissecting the sociocultural forces that shape diplomacy. With high school experience as a delegate and Senior Crisis Director, she carries her curiosity for diverse and interconnected experiences into collegiate MUN as a Specialized delegate, Assistant Crisis Director for EmpireMUNC XI, and Vice Chair for NYUMUNC XVI. As AUSG of Committees for EmpireMUNC XII, Angelina is committed to developing holistic backgrounds for both GA and Crisis committees, with a focus on robust research and creative challenges.
When she’s not working on committee design, you can find her brooding on the Brooklyn Bridge, reading about cultural criticism, or cutting and pasting scraps of K-pop photobooks into eclectic collages.

Jade Oquendo Eisenhaur attended a single high-school conference, Model UN aside, and then rediscovered it with a vengeance at NYU—rapidly distinguishing herself as a delegate, analyst, and chair at HNMUN, HOPMUNC (Outstanding Delegate ’24), and NYUMUNC. As Under-Secretary-General of GA she fuses linguistic acuity with policy depth, designing topic synopses that balance historical realism with forward-looking innovation. Her committees are renowned for tight dais management, engaging draft-resolution workshops, and a culture that encourages newer delegates to test bold amendments.
Away from parliamentary procedure, Jade is a competitive figure skater who once laced up for youth hockey, loves books , and loves nail art.

Yash Kashyap is an MUN innovator, dinosaur enthusiast, and semi-professional chaos engineer. As USG in high school, he created an original committee that went viral—well, as viral as committee guides get and is now used by several other conferences in the region. Since then, he's held positions including CA for EmpireMUNC’s Ad Hoc and Vice Chair for the Derry Girls committee at NYUMUNC.
Outside of the MUN sphere, Yash spends his time listening to metalcore, drawing horror-inspired art, and discussing political theory with reckless abandon. He dreams of resurrecting dinosaurs one day, hopefully without any Jurassic Park side effects.

When he isn’t involved in Model UN, Josh is a member of NYU’s Flag Football team and a writer for the school newspaper. Outside of NYU, Josh loves to read, watch Netflix, play basketball, and bike around NYC. He hopes that each delegate who participates in EmpireMUNC walks away with the same great experiences that he had competing in High School, and wishes them the best of luck!
