How to get involved!
Running our largest and most ambitious conference yet demands our largest and most dedicated team of staff as well! We are always looking for new staffers to sign up and help us out with running our conference!
We only require that you are an active NYU student, undergraduate or graduate students are welcome!
We are actively looking for Crisis Analysts, Assistant Crisis Directors, and Vice Chairs - we do not require prior experience for any of these roles, so we’d appreciate you applying!
Roles Available (sorted by time commitment)
Crisis Analyst (CA):
If you’re wholly unfamiliar with Model UN, have never staffed before, or wish to learn more about running a conference with a minimal time commitment, we recommend signing up! There is no interview process, and you will be assigned a role within a couple of days! As a CA, you will be supporting and aiding your Crisis Director (CD) in responding to crisis notes and helping with crisis updates throughout the duration of the conference. You will also receive training for this role before the conference!

Assistant Crisis Director (ACD) / Vice Chair:
ACDs aid the Crisis Director in real-time committee planning and update management, along with guiding Crisis Analysts with note responses. CA experience preferred, but not necessary, and we appreciate creativity and collaborative skills.
Vice Chairs help the Chair manage the frontroom, including speech timing, judging speech quality, and maintains decorum throughout the conference. Experience not necessary, we appreciate strong speaking and the ability to command a room.

Chair / Crisis Director (CD): No longer accepting Chair/CD applications!
Crisis Directors run the backroom, planning the universe of a Crisis Committee, and executing the delegates demands and requests in updates, for dramatic changes in an unfolding narrative designed to engage delegates on multiple conceptual levels. You will be planning a committee, from scratch, alongside the Chair. Staffing or competitive experience highly recommended.
Chairs run the frontroom, moderating debate, and aiding delegates in engaging in effective discussions and diplomacy. You also plan your committee, from scratch, alongside the CD. Staffing or competitive experience highly recommended, we appreciate strong speaking skills and the ability to command a room.
If this is your first time interacting with NYU Model UN, we highly recommend you meet us at Club Fest, or try out for our Travel Team as well! We are a highly ranked team and actively compete in some of the circuit’s most competitive conferences nationally, with all travel costs and fees covered by NYU!
