EmpireMUNC’s Conference Policies
EmpireMUNC’s policies are written with the intention of promoting independent thought, encouraging personal responsibility, and helping delegates build the skills necessary to engage meaningfully in debate and diplomacy. While we place some restrictions on content given the age of our participants, we strive to give delegates as much freedom as possible in how they approach their committees and represent their positions.
Delegates are representatives of their schools and delegations, but, more importantly, they are representatives of themselves. We expect every delegate to exercise good judgment, respect those around them, and take ownership of their conduct and decisions throughout the conference. Our goal is not to micromanage delegates, but to create an environment where they can think independently, challenge ideas, and grow as leaders while maintaining a safe and respectful community for everyone.

Everything in this will be communicated, at some point, to every advisor.
EmpireMUNC’s Rules
EmpireMUNC XIII’s Directorate and Staff will handle violations of all rules listed below on an individual basis. Failure to abide by these may lead to a disqualification from awards or expulsion from the conference. These will be elaborated on below, feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our policies.
Delegates, for the duration of all committee sessions, must adhere to the dress code. Western Business Attire is required of all delegates while in committee rooms during committee sessions, however we do not hold a dress code for delegates outside of these times, even for conference-run events.
Delegates and Advisors will not harass or disrupt NYU students or staff nor will excessive noise be allowed.
All delegates must be in their assigned committee rooms throughout committee sessions. Delegates are expected to be on-time to all committee sessions.
Conference identification (IDs, Lanyards, Badges) must be worn visibly at all times while on the NYU Campus, and all should ensure that they are not lost or damaged for the duration of the conference.
Use or possession of alcohol, tobacco products, marijuana products or paraphernalia, and any illegal substances is strictly prohibited for all delegates for the entire duration of the conference.
Delegates are expected to be mindful and respectful of all cultures, both in and out of committee.
Delegates are not permitted to use phones in committee sessions. In emergency cases, please step outside to use your phone.
Delegates will act in accordance with New York City Law and NYU’s Campus Policies.
Delegates are prohibited from prewriting, plagiarism, or use of Artificial Intelligence for all written content throughout the conference.
Delegates are expected to comply with instructions of EmpireMUNC Staff and Directorate in all circumstances to enforce these rules and policies.
